Born on March 9, 1938, in Stamford, Tony Milone was the son of Helen and Theodore Milone. His early passion for carpentry led him to J.M. Wright Technical School, where he developed his skills. Tony’s expertise in craftsmanship was well-known, but his true calling was in firefighting.

Tony began his career with the Stamford Fire Department and rose through the ranks to become Fire Chief in 1998. His distinguished 33-year career was marked by dedicated service and leadership. He retired on July 1, 2000, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and pride in his work.
Family and Community: A Life Well-Lived
Tony was married to his beloved wife, Marguerette, for 64 years. They built a life filled with joy, raising three sons and enjoying their time together. Tony loved spending time with his family, playing golf, and working in his yard.
In retirement, Tony and Marguerette lived in Apache Junction, AZ, for over 20 years before returning to Connecticut in 2021. Tony enjoyed the eastern coast and cherished moments with his family during his final years.
Honoring Tony Milone’s Legacy
Tony is survived by his sons Anthony Jr. (Dana), Theodore (Lynn), and Emil (Alma), along with five grandchildren and a great-grandson. He is also remembered by his sister, Grace (Mike) Guarnieri, brother-in-law Raymond (Elaine) Cuzzocreo, sister-in-law Claudia Milone, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Marguerette and brother Theodore Milone.
Tony spent his final years at Bridges by EPOCH Memory Care in Trumbull, CT, where he received compassionate care.
Celebration of Life and Donations
A Celebration of Life funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Church in Monroe, CT. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Stamford Firefighters Local 786 Burn Foundation in Tony’s memory.
Tony Milone’s life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to family, community, and his profession. He will be fondly remembered for his service and the love he brought to those around him.
