At around 8:30 a.m., The Rogersville Review published a piece confirming that local authorities have confirmed Bloomquist’s participation in a minor aviation incident. Bloomquist’s age was 60 years old.

Reid Millard, a Missouri racer and a personal friend of Bloomquist, verified the news. Millard, who also works as a funeral director, shared the unfortunate event on Facebook after receiving a phone call from Georgie, Bloomquist’s mother. According to Millard’s tweet, the crash occurred around 7:15 a.m. EST near Bloomquist’s home. The local fire department and law enforcement personnel stayed at the location for an extended period of time afterwards.
Bloomquist, a highly regarded individual inducted into the prestigious Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame, will be forever recognized as one of the most extraordinary drivers in the annals of Dirt Late Model racing, with a track record that is nearly unmatched. Bloomquist, a highly accomplished racer with a track record of over 600 triumphs, just participated in his final race on August 3rd at the USA Nationals in New Richmond, Wisconsin, held at Cedar Lake Speedway.
His daughter, Ariel, together with his parents and sister, are the ones who continue to live after him. In addition to his accomplishments in racing, Bloomquist was a personable and prominent figure who sparked the enthusiasm of Dirt Late Model fans around the country. Bloomquist has recently experienced a series of injuries, including a leg injury resulting from a motorcycle accident, prostate cancer, a foot injury prior to the 2023 Dirt Track World Championship at Eldora Speedway, and shoulder surgery preceding the 2024 season.
Furthermore, he was recently hospitalized following an unusual incident involving a bite from a horsefly. However, Bloomquist remained resolute in his ambition to reclaim victory in the most prestigious Dirt Late Model racing events. Bloomquist and his father find enjoyment in flying vintage airplanes and own a collection that was showcased on the Road to Eldora in 2022.
