Just ten minutes after the initial reports, the situation escalated as the Toyota Tacoma collided head-on with a Tesla traveling northbound on Highway 85. The impact was devastating, and despite the Tesla’s safety features, the occupants—a woman and a 14-year-old boy—tragically lost their lives at the scene. The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed, but their loss has deeply affected their loved ones and the community.

The driver of the Toyota Tacoma, 39-year-old Duncan McQuarrie, was critically injured and transported to a nearby hospital.
