A versatile and accomplished musician, Rod’s style spanned a wide array of genres, including R&B, Smooth Jazz, Classic Soul, Old School, and New Jazz. He meticulously composed, recorded, and produced his music in his home studio, earning a reputation as a skilled and dedicated artist.

His talent also took him beyond state lines, as he performed at the pre-celebration party jazzfest at the Red Cat Jazz Cafe in Houston, Texas, in October 2011, alongside other renowned musicians like Dean James, Kyle Turner, and Marion Meadows.

Rod continued to share his gift with the world, performing in events such as the December 2011 concert with Bob Baldwin at Chico’s House of Jazz, and the 2012 jazz festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey, where he was a featured artist.

As Rod was preparing to release his latest CD, “Hands Down,” with a special event at The Ivory Lounge in San Antonio, Texas, his passing comes as a heartbreaking loss to the music community.
