Raelyn Schultz and Ximena Navarro Death & Obituary: It is with heavy hearts that we report the tragic passing of two young lives, Raelyn Schultz and Ximena Navarro, who have left a lasting impact on their communities. Their untimely departures have brought profound sadness to those who knew and loved them.
Raelyn Schultz: A Brave Young Spirit
Raelyn Schultz, a 9-year-old from Alpha, Iowa, fought valiantly in the ICU following a tragic accident. Despite her family’s hopes and the dedicated efforts of medical professionals, Raelyn succumbed to her injuries. Her father, Darrick Schultz, expressed his deep grief and gratitude for the support they received:
“I want to start off thanking everyone for their kind words, thoughts, well wishes, and prayers. They mean the world to us. My heart is broken and I am so sorry to inform each and every one of you that our sweet Raelyn has gained her wings and is safe and peaceful up in heaven. Raelyn put up a heck of a fight, we all know she is strong as an ox but we couldn’t let her be in pain. We are so lost and heartbroken right now and have no idea how our lives can go on without our sweet sassy girl. Please keep our family in your prayers through this awful and trying time. I’m just so grateful to know she touched so many people’s lives and hearts. Please continue to let her infectious laugh and love live on through you. She will forever be missed and this world just doesn’t shine the same without her here. We love you sweet Rae.”
Ximena Navarro: A Community’s Support
Ximena Navarro, another bright young soul, is currently in critical condition following a pool accident on Sunday night. She was airlifted to LaCrosse, where her family remains by her side. Amber Linderbaum has shared ways the community can support Ximena’s family during this challenging time:
“Thank you to all those that have already reached out to help the family. As many of you know, Ximena Navarro, the daughter of Cesar and Diana, was in a pool accident this past Sunday night. She was airlifted to LaCrosse and is in critical condition. There is a bank account set up at Kerndt Brothers Saving Bank in Clermont to support the family with traveling and other expenses they may accumulate along the way. At this time they are unsure of how long they will be in LaCrosse. Mom and Dad have not left her side and the siblings and other family have been traveling up daily. Please consider helping the family with a donation at Kerndt Brothers or many local businesses have donation buckets available. Donations may be mailed to Kerndt Brothers Saving Bank, P.O. Box 7, Clermont, IA 52135, or dropped off at any Kerndt Brothers location. Make all donations to the Ximena Benefit Account. You may also donate to a Venmo Account set up to transfer to the bank. Venmo: @Ximena-benefit (code-1986). Please keep in mind the privacy of the family and refrain from contacting them at this time as they focus on being together and the recovery of Ximena.”
Community Response and Support
In the wake of these heart-wrenching events, the community has rallied to support both families. Sarah Sieck has organized a fundraiser, selling sweet corn at Meatzys Deli/The Pumper in Fayette to raise funds for Raelyn and Ximena’s families. All proceeds will be divided between the two families, demonstrating a unified effort to assist those affected by these tragedies.
The outpouring of support and kindness reflects the deep connections and empathy that define our community. Raelyn and Ximena will be remembered for their vibrant spirits and the love they brought into the lives of those around them. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families during this incredibly difficult time.
