Sims, who was later identified in an online message seeking support for her family, was initially transported to the hospital but sadly passed away from her injuries. The driver of the car Sims was in, a 31-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Additionally, a 69-year-old woman, who was driving another vehicle involved in the crash, also lost her life.

According to the police, the fatal crash involved three vehicles, one of which overturned and landed on its roof. The accident began when the 31-year-old man driving a Chevy Camaro westbound on County Line Road crossed into the eastbound lanes, colliding head-on with a Nissan SUV driven by the 69-year-old victim.
A third vehicle, a Hyundai that was following the Nissan in the eastbound lane, became involved in the collision. After the crash, the driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene, while Sims and another passenger in the Camaro, a 23-year-old woman, were rushed to Jefferson Hospital. The 23-year-old remains in critical condition. The Hyundai’s driver was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where their condition is described as stable.
