Early Life and Education
Born on March 9, 1938, in Stamford, Connecticut, to Helen and Theodore Milone, Tony spent over six decades in the city he loved. He attended J.M. Wright Technical School, where he pursued carpentry, quickly becoming a master craftsman renowned for his precision and skill.
Career in Firefighting
Tony’s dedication to public service led him to join the Stamford Fire Department, where he served with distinction for 33 years. His leadership, commitment, and unwavering dedication to community safety saw him rise through the ranks, ultimately becoming Stamford Fire Chief in 1998. Tony retired on July 1, 2000, leaving behind a legacy of excellence, camaraderie, and respect within the firefighting community.

Family and Personal Life
Tony was married to Marguerette Milone, the love of his life, for 64 years. Together, they raised three sons—Anthony Jr., Theodore, and Emil—who were his pride and joy. Family was at the heart of Tony’s happiness, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
In retirement, Tony fulfilled a lifelong dream by moving to Apache Junction, Arizona, where he designed and built his dream home under the Superstition Mountains. He embraced the western lifestyle for over 20 years before returning to Connecticut in 2021, where he spent his final years surrounded by family.
Legacy and Final Years
Tony is survived by his three sons: Anthony Jr. (Dana), Theodore (Lynn), and Emil (Alma); his five grandchildren—Kelly, Anthony III (Samantha), Thomas (Morgan), Haylee, and Mia; and his great-grandson Theodore T. Milone. He is also survived by his sister Grace (Mike) Guarnieri, brother-in-law Raymond (Elaine) Cuzzocreo, sister-in-law Claudia Milone, and many nieces and nephews. Tony was predeceased by his beloved wife Marguerette, his brother Theodore Milone, and several close friends.
In 2023, Tony became a resident of Bridges by EPOCH Memory Care in Trumbull, Connecticut, where he received exceptional care. His family is profoundly grateful for the compassionate support provided by the staff, especially Kendra.
Celebration of Life
A Celebration of Life funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 29th, at 11:00 AM at St. Jude Church in Monroe, Connecticut. Family and friends will gather to honor Tony’s life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tony’s name to the Stamford Firefighters Local 786 Burn Foundation, continuing his legacy of service and support for those in need.
